The Navy Day

The Navy Day is one of the brightest and favourite holidays in St. Petersburg. Celebrations take place annually on the last Sunday of July and cover the whole city.
This is what is planned for July 29, 2018:

From 11:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m. Blagoveschensky, Dvortsovy, Troitsky and Liteiny bridges will be drawn.
At 11:00 a.m. a naval parade featuring 41 warships as well as 38 helicopters and airplanes of all the four Russian fleets will take place in the water area of ​​the Neva river.
The artillery boats included into the Caspian flotilla that participated in the defense of Leningrad, Sevastopol and Novorossiysk during the Great Patriotic War, are going to start the Parade.

11:00  a.m. - 02.00 p.m.: broadcast of the parade on the big screens on the Palace Square;
02.00 p.m.: the beginning of the video tour devoted to the history of the Russian and Soviet navy; performances by Alexander Rosenbaum, soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre, military orchestras from different countries, Oleg Gazmanov, Turetsky’s Choir, etc .;
10.00 p.m.: the end of the concert program, fireworks.

The Kronshtadt parade starts at 11:00 a.m..
In Kronshtadt, you will be able to see naval equipment that cannot enter the water area of Neva because of its huge dimensions and draft. The program will continue with concerts in Petrovsky Park and in the Yakornaya Square. 

On the Navy Day, you can get to Kronshtadt using the special bus route No.8 from Oranienbaum. Oranienbaum railway station can be reached by train from Baltiysky Vokzal railway station. Additional trains will be cruising on the route. The bus from Oranienbaum to Kronshtadt will be cruising from 9.00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m. The average interval of traffic is 7 minutes. The schedule is specially tuned to  electric trains schedule.

Due to the celebration and its preparation, the following museum and tour schedule changes are going to take place.

Water and bus tours:

  • On July 26, buses on "City tour" route start cruising at 13.40.
  • July 22-30 - "City Cruise" water route is unavailable.
  • On July 26 and 29, hydrofoils to Peterhof departing from the piers on Senatskaya Pristan and Dvortsovaya Pristan, will depart in the morning until 12.00 from "Tuchkov Most" pier on  20, Makarova Embankment.
  • From July 18 to 30, "Golden Ring of St. Petersburg" and "Drawbridges Night" water tour routes may undergo minor changes.
  • On July 26, "The Northern Venice" daytime water tours start after 14.00, on July 29 water tours are cancelled.


  • On July 29, 2018 until 15.00, the territory of the Peter and Paul Fortress and the Zayachiy Island as well as museum expositions and exhibitions will be closed for visitors. Peter and Paul Fortress beach will be closed for visitors the whole day.
  • On July 28, Aurora Cruiser will be closed for visitors unless an excursion was paid in advance.
