World music festival in Sheremetev Palace

On August 11 and 12, 2018 the Sheremetev Palace — the Music Museum is going to host "Music of the World" ethnic festival for the third time. The festival brings together the best ethnic musicians from St. Petersburg and Moscow, Russian regions and the neighbouring countries. The central figures of the festival perform traditional music in ethnorock, ethnojazz and ethnoelectronic styles.

This year, the ethnic music festival is going to stretch on the both sides of the 18th century manor house — in the courtyard and in the garden of the Fountain House of the Sheremetev Palace in the very heart of St. Petersburg. In the Fountain Garden a two-day open air concert marathon is going to take place. National yurts and chums, a tent of ethnic instruments craftsmen, a fair and a wide range of children's master classes will be located in the courtyard. In the Sheremetev Palace itself creative meetings with unique musicians — the headliners of the festival, as well as interactive excursions to the collection of musical instruments stored by the Museum of Theater and Music are going to be held.

This year, "Music of the World" ethnic festival has placed confidence in its listeners: it was they who, on an equal basis with the high jury, chose the participants of the concert marathon in an open competition voting for their favorites on social media. The contest laureates are performing on the same stage together with the famous stars of the genre.
