Excursion "History of Easter Egg" at Faberge Museum


The Faberge Museum invites you to a family tour "The History of the Easter Egg", which will be held on April, 8 at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 PM.

Guests of the event will get acquainted with the history of the Easter egg: they will learn about the origins of the tradition of painting eggs, about the symbolism of colors and patterns that were applied to eggs; about the symbolic meaning of the Easter egg and about how the Faberge company made Easter eggs for the royal family. Also guests will see Easter eggs from different materials - papier-mâché, glass, wood, porcelain, metal, enameled - to  get an idea of ​​different techniques for making Easter eggs. The Easter egg will appear before the visitors not only as a religious symbol, but also as an artistic image.
