Opening of the Sand Sculpture Festival in Peter and Paul Fortress

The festival of sand sculptures "World's masterpieces" will open at the Peter and Paul Fortress on May, 25. The opening is dedicated to the celebration of the City Day.

Guests of the exposition will have an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the compositions presented at the festival. Masters created sand copies of the most interesting sites of the World Heritage - the Milan Cathedral, the Mayan pyramid, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Egyptian Sphinx and the statues of Ramses II. The central composition of the Festival will be the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord from the world-famous Kizhi Island in Karelia. It is noteworthy that this sand sculpture is recognized as the highest in the history of the Festival of Sand Sculptures in St. Petersburg: its height is 10 meters.
