Photo exhibition "Estonians of St. Petersburg Province - Leningrad Region"

The photo exhibition "Estonians of St. Petersburg Province - Leningrad Region" will begin work at the Russian Ethnographic Museum on May, 16 at 10:00.

The exhibition photos introduce visitors to one of the little-known pages of the ethnic history of the region - the life, way of life and culture of Estonians-settlers in the period 1880-2010.

The creation of the exhibition was made not only by the staff of the Russian Ethnographic Museum, but also by members of the St. Petersburg Society of Estonian Culture, as well as the Compatriots of Isakovsky Estonians (Luga district). Some photos were made in expeditions of 1989-1990-ies. of ethnographer M.L. Zasetskaya, but most are provided by the owners of family archives.

The photo exhibition is part of the program of jubilee cultural events held in St. Petersburg in honor of the 100th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Estonia.
