"Wassily Kandinsky. Russia"

On November, 17 the Russian museum will host a musical and literary evening devoted to the early artistic period of Wassily Kandinsky - a painter, musician, poet and scientist. He is credited to be one of the most prominent figures in XX century art of Russia, and famous for discovering the so-called "lyrical abstractionism painting".

In 1904-1907 he created dozens of paintings, including graphic art, inspired by Russia's folk theme.  Later he mentioned this period as an expression of longing for his homeland. Kandinsky often declared the idea of bringing together the national arts for the sake of creating art of the future.
