Russian Ethnography Museum

On March 7 the museum is open from 10:00 to 18:00 (tickets till 17:00);
On March 8 and 9 the museum is closed.

The Ethnography Museum was established in 1902 by a special edict of Nicholas II. Its collection provides an interesting overview of various peoples who settled on Russian land throughout its history. National costumes, an amazing crafts heritage, life-size models of typical regional buildings - all of this makes for a fascinating insight into Russian culture, which is really one of diversity.

Make sure you visit a special storeroom, containing exquisite national jewellery, pieces of armoury made of precious metals and stones, and other unique exhibits of XVII-XX centuries.
