State museum-preserve “Peterhof” is a magnificent palace and park ensemble, which was used by Russian emperors as a summer residence.

The Grand Palace of Peterhof

Free entry to the Grand Palace with St Petersburg Card is available till April 24 and from October 19, 2020 till the middle of spring 2021. In summer visitors need to buy a separate ticket for the palace themselves.

The Grand Palace is the center of palace and park ensemble. It was the summer residence of Russian emperors. A great number of оutstanding Russian and European masters had been working on its construction during the XVIII and XIX centuries. Remarkable authentic pictures, items of furniture, fabrics and porcelain, which belonged to the imperial families, are displayed in the baroque and classic style halls of the palace. 

Tickets can be obtained at the palace ticket offices marked with St Petersburg Card logo. Visitors can only see the palace in a guided group that is formed at the entrance. The excursion is provided in Russian only, audioguides are available at 500 RUR, no deposit required. 

In summer the park is included only. For the palace in summer visitors will need to buy tickets themselves. From May to October individual tourists may enter with an additional ticket at the following time: 12:00-14:30, 16:15-19:45

The Lower Garden of Peterhof

The Lower Garden can be visited with St.Petersburg Card from April 25 to October 18.
From October to April the admittance is free for everyone.

In the cold period the fountains are turned off due to weather conditions. In 2020 hydrofoils will be cruising starting from end of April.The park is famous for its magnificent fountains that make it a perfect place for summer strolls.  


Tickets can be obtained at the ticket offices No. 1 and 2 on Razvodnaya str., No. 8 and 9 at Palace sq. and No. 5 and 6, which are separate lines where guides of organized tourist groups pick up tickets.
For your attention: on special occasions tour guides receive priority service; tourists with St. Petersburg Card are served in the order of arrival.

Rules for taking photos

Non-professional filming and photoshooting is allowed by means of cameras and mobile devices in case flash, tripods, monopods and selfie sticks are not used. Taking photos and making videos on temporary eshibitions or using the images for commercial use should be agreed with the museum administration additionally. The museum kindly asks to be polite to other visitors and tour guides and not to disturb them.

On the days of special events (such as the Fountain festival), the Peterhof museum has a different schedule and entrance fee rate. In this case, benefits with St Petersburg Card do not apply. The up-to-date information will be published on the museum website.

Visiting Alexandria, Upper Gardens and getting to the town

In case you plan to visit Lower Park and then walk around Upper Garden, or Alexandria Park, or museums on Dvortsovaya Sq. on the same day, before you go back to the Lower Park you need to pick up a one-day pass bracelet at the administration of Peterhof. It is located at 2 Razvodnaya st., the door with the sign "Administration of Peterhof" (in Russian «АДМИНИСТРАЦИЯ ГМЗ "ПЕТЕРГОФ"» - see maps below). The administrator gives a free bracelet pass to those who show a ticket to the Lower Park not later than 20.00.

Autumn Fountain Show #EMPRESS2019 in Peterhof

In 2019 the traditional multimedia fountain show #EMPRESS2019 will be held at the Grand Cascade of Peterhof on September 20th and 21st.
