Anna Akhmatova Museum

The museum is closed on December 31, January 1 and 7.
On January 2 the museum is open from 13.00. On the other days the museum is open as usual.

Akhmatova Museum is located in the centre of Saint Petersburg, on the Liteiniy avenue. As you step into the quiet garden of the inner courtyard, you are immediately immersed in the special atmosphere of the place.

Collection of the museum includes manuscripts, documentary photos and books by other Silver Age writers with their autographs. Correspondence with the members of her family, who were persecuted during the Stalin era, speaks of the tragedy of Akmatova's personal life as well as of her times.

Just like the subtle beauty of Akhmatova's poetry, the magic of the place completely carries you away. It's as if you feel the presence of the great poetess herself.
