Nekrasov Apartment Museum

Back

Nikolay Nekrasov - Russian poet, famous for his compassionate attitude to peasantry, lived in this apartment for the last 20 years of his life. Apart from manuscripts and first publications of the author, the museum collection contains a lot of Nekrasov’s personal belongings and has perfectly preserved the original atmosphere. The place also served as headquarters for «Sovremennik» and «Otechestvennye zapiski» - pioneer liberal magazines of that time - and was frequently visited by L. Tolstoy, I. Turgenev,  and other notable writers.
