Samoilov Family Museum

On December 31 - January 8 the museum is closed.

For eighteen years (1869–1887) the second fl oor of №8 on Stremiannaya Ul. was occupied by the famous actor of Alexandrinsky Theatre Vassily Vassilievich Samoilov (1812–1887). He was the most gifted representative of the Samoilov dynasty, many members of which were well–known theatre people.
The Samoilov Family Museum was opened in St. Petersburg in 1994. The exhibition is devoted to the history of the Samoilov family. Here there are portraits of the three generations of the dynasty, their personal belongings, furniture, paintings, expertly made by V. V. Samoilov himself. Another exhibition is dedicated to the Russian ballet theatre from old days into present.
