Museum of Theatre

A luxury introduction to the development of Russian theatrical and musical art. The museum displays a collection of rarity items from debut performances of famous composers and playwrights: Glinka, Chaikovsky, Musorgsky, Ostrovsky, Griboedov and others.

Some of the exhibits are related to the celebrated masters who greatly contributed to Russian theatre reforms in the 1st half of the XX century. The list of these names includes, although not limited to, Meyerhold, Komissarzhevskaya and Shalyapin.

Magnificent stage costumes created in studios of the Emperor's theatres are a special treat.
